I’m an ex-smoker, started smoking in 1971 at the age of 23 and since then I used to smoke 5 packs of cigarettes a day for the next 24 years. After 24 years of smoking and over one night I quit smoking for good. That was in the year 1995, while I was 47 years old, and since then, I did not smoke one cigarette, not even a puff.

My experience in quitting smoking: With simple calculations I found out that I had smoked - in the past twenty-four years - more than 730 000 cigarettes (yes, seven hundred and thirty thousand cigarettes), equivalent to 36 500 packs (yes, thirty-six thousand five hundred pack of cigarettes)!! I believe that was enough!! And I had to get rid of this bad habit !!!.
I began several trials as an attempt to get rid of this terrible situation, I tried to cut the number of daily smoked cigarettes, I began to buy low nicotine and tar cigarettes, I also worked hard to replace smoking cigarettes with sugar-free chewing gum, I switched to different brands of cigarettes, in addition, I was convinced that keeping smoking is considered a committing suicide.
How I Quit Smoking: I went through many quitting trial, and they all failed until I became very well acknowledged with most of withdrawal symptoms and how to deal with each of them, and was ready to face all challenges that I may face in the quitting smoking process, and I became fully aware of the terrible conflict between psychological mind, and addiction.
Thanks God, I had successfully quit smoking for good and that was in 1995 and since then I did not smoke a single cigarette, not even a puff.
